First Dill Pickles

This weekend I made my first batch of dill pickles from the pickling cucumbers and dill from the garden! I found a really great step-by-step guide to making them at I have never canned or pickled anything before, so I needed something with photos and excellent details. I added a slice of jalapeno to one of the jars, and I can not wait to eat them!


  1. Oooh they look tasty. How long do you have wait before you can get stuck in?

  2. You are supposed to wait at least 24 hours, but the best flavor comes at 2 weeks...don't know if I can wait that long! LOL

  3. Yay! Your pickles look awesome. It's definitely hard waiting two weeks to try them :-)
